Welcome to the launch of cgleason design (aka cgleason.org v4)! I’ve spent this semester at the Massachusetts College of Art & Design (MassArt) enrolled in “Building and Designing the Modern Web”, working with HTML5, CSS3, and the wide world of jQuery.
A bit about the admin: I was educated in creative writing in the wilds of Western New York, where I wrote poems, spent time in darkrooms & engaged in various culinary adventures with a houseful of computer programmers an engineers. In my post-college life, I am a Boston-area self-taught graphic designer who worked her way up in publishing from an Editorial Intern to an Associate Designer, a freelance designer for local geekery (including the Pioneer Valley’s Science Fiction convention, Pi-Con and nerdtastic comic xkcd), and a wedding stationary creator. I’m skilled in publishing design & production, interested in education, and have experience in marketing design (including web and print ads, email blasts, and brochures). I’m currently available for contract and freelance opportunities.
I’m also currently working through the MassArt Graphic Design Certificate program, and would love to keep in touch with other GDC students. Stay tuned for more on that once classes start up in January.
In any case, I’ll be using this space for project news, web experiments (looking forward to having cgleason.org fully responsive in the new year!), and to keep track of questions, frustrations, and inspiration. Have any of your own? Leave a comment and let me know.
